The Arcane Ward causes each spell cast while standing in it to happen twice, meaning you can save MP and hit/heal harder by casting Thunder and Cure instead of Thundara or Cura.Īfter you take out the first group, another wave of Hedgehog Pies will appear. Have Aerith cast an Arcane Ward down in an area where there is plenty of room to move. They are weak to Lightning, so abuse Thunder to Stagger it quickly. In the next area, you’ll encounter a new enemy the Smogger. The ramp to the left has some Shinra boxes, and the stairs on the right lead to a locked gate with a golden dragon on it, so take the path straight forward to unlock the gate and proceed. Jump across the tiny gap to the left to find a chest with an Ether, then return and take the path forward. As you enter the next small clearing, you’ll need to take out several Gorgers and a Hedgehog Pie, then duck through the rubble on the right. Aerith will call your attention to the view, so drink it in, then continue to follow the path to the left. Head left at the top of the ladder, then follow the path to the left as it winds around and up.
